I think Sonoma Chicken Coop is pretty so-so...nothing to rave about.
Chichen was dry (could be good but then it's just a matter of luck when you order vs. when they pull the chicken off the rostissre (sp-sorry)).
Sauces were bland and didn't add anything to the chicken.
Didn't try the pastas so I can't speak there.
Salads were fine...bottled dressing and too much of it but I realize that's what most people are used to and even expect now.
Dessets...why waste calories unless you're going to be wow'd? And these, could have picked them up from the freezer at Safeway or Costco.
So, in retrospect, I didn't think it was so-so...I didn't like it and don't recommend it.
At the same time, I make fantasic chicken at home (have a convection/rossistrie (sp? again, sorry) that is fantastic) so I'm biased about eating chicken out.

Life's too short to eat bad food..But bad food is personal preference.

Erin - just curious, which brand/model Rotisserie do you use at home?

It's a Welbilt/blit? Sorry don't have the model number...It was a gift.
Has been wonderful to use, especially in the summer. We keep it on the patio to use and it doesn't heat up the house.

I really liked it. The price was very reasonable and the food was grubbin! It can get a little too busy before Sharks games, but overall I say its a goodie.

My husband and I just ate at Sonoma Chicken Coop last weekend after reading the recommendations on Chowhound. We were looking for a restaurant close to HP pavilion for dinner before the Cirque du Soliel performance. The food is terrible! I had the 1/4 roasted chicken with a side of grilled artichokes. He had the BBQ chicken sandwich. We also ordered a side of the mashed potatoes with leeks. SCC serves glorified cafeteria food. The roasted chicken was dry. The aioli sauce served with the artichokes is a bright orange (resembling french dressing). My husband’s BBQ chicken was too sweet and was served with tortillas chips with commercially made salsa. The mashed potatoes looked liked it was served with an ice cream scoop and it was VERY salty. It was a Saturday night and very crowded (people running into each other) and the PA system (for calling the order numbers) was blaring. Don't go there if you are trying to have a special evening. Both my husband don't usually have completely negative reviews on restaurants, but having both worked in school cafeteria's during college...we know cafeteria-style food when we see it (and we NEVER want to eat it again)! Don't be fooled by the menu descriptions on their website. Someone is a very creative writer.

Calling it cafeteria food is a bit of an exageration, but I won't disagree that it's not the greatest food in the world. What it is, is cheap and fast and fairly tasty. It remains to be a good choice a step above fast food. It's a zoo before a Shark's game or during lunch, so results can vary.
