Hi all,

My co-worker, (a fellow peanut butter and chocolate fanatic), knows that I like to bake/cook, and asked if I had ever made a Chunky Monkey. Apparently this is a dessert that is basically a peanut butter base (some sort of peanut butter and confectioner's sugar mixture) with a chocolate topping. It sounds like these are bars of some kind. I of course had to tell her that not only did I not have a recipe for these bars, but I also hadn't heard of them before. However, her mere mention of this peanut butter and chocolate concoction has got me dying to find a recipe! Upon scouring both this site as well as a few others, I've been unable to find any recipe called "Chunky Monkey," and thought it would be difficult to search based on the recipe description/ingredients alone.

Does anyone have a recipe for either a Chunky Monkey dessert, or something similar. Probably not looking for anything with any kind of flour/oatmeal/etc. in the peanut butter mixture, as it sounds like the mixture is very creamy and not as a structured as something with a starch would be.

Thanks in advance!

What you're describing sounds a lot like the recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars on Allrecipes.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars IV
2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar

In a medium bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs, confectioners' sugar, peanut butter and melted butter. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Melt chocolate chips over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring occasionally. Spread melted chocolate over the crumb crust. Chill for about 5 minutes, then cut into bars before the chocolate is completely set, then chill until ready to serve.
