Holiday punches
Wanted to have a really oustanding punch for my holiday party and am uninspired. Any ideas? Here are the stipulations (mostly because I have made variations before in previous years and want something new):
1) Must contain alcohol
2) Dry preferred
3) NO sherbet or ice cream or sorbet in it (Made a punch with these in 2002)
4) NO apple (2003) or cinnamon/nutmeg (2004)or peppermint flavor (2001)
5) NO chocolate flavor (Too much chocolate going on anyway)
6) NO eggnog
7) NO Glogg or other spiced wine
8) NO buttered rum
9) I have a couple bottles of Veuve Cliquot that I don't mind using for this (Yes, I know I should drink this straight, but these are the extra ones.)

I like a champagne punch with fresh raspberries, cherries, blueberries and grapes.

I make this recipe every year and it goes over VERY well. I originally found it on epicurious. I have replaced the Tripe Sec with Grand Marnier and that works nicely. I also have used Belle de Brillet in place of brandy. Fresh pineapple juice is best if you can get it. Also if you take the time to make an ice mold with fresh raspberries and mint leaves, it will really please your guests.
Enjoy!
1 cup Triple Sec
1 cup brandy
1/2 cup Chambord
2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
1 quart chilled ginger ale
2 chilled 750-ml. bottles dry champagne
In a bowl combine the Triple Sec, the brandy, the Chambord and the pineapple juice and chill the mixture, covered, for at least 4 hours or overnight. In a large punch bowl combine the Triple Sec mixture, the ginger ale, and the champagne and add ice cubes.
P.S. The first time I made this I doubled the recipe and ran out after an hour and a half. Make more than you think you'll need!
