Can you cut Silpat?

My Silpat pad doesn't fit my cookie sheets - it's wider than my department-store pans. Can I cut the Silpat so it fits?

Thanks,
Anne

It should be fine as long as you don't use high heat in your oven (IE 425 degrees and above).

I cut mine years ago (and am still living, I think)
      because...
two halves of a whole was cheaper than
      two whole half sheets.

Just be sure to roll rather than fold for storage.

I cut mine - some people advise against, but Ive not had any problem with fraying etc.

You are not supposed to cut Silpat mats. I'd buy a new pan before I cut my silpats.

Commercially, the stuff comes in rolls. Of course you can cut it. You might void your warrenty, like when you rent a car in Hawaii, and then climb Moana Kea, but you only live once.
