Pork belly and bacon
Perhaps a stupid question but what is the difference between pork belly and bacon? Is the latter just pork belly that has been cured and smoked?
I have seen a Chinese restaurant selling lots of Asian diners a dish of 1.5" cubes of pork belly, cooked with a sort of "General Tso" sauce (no breading), arranged on the platter fitted back together square-by-square, surrounded by plain steamed buns to split and eat the meat in.
Yummy, but no diet food!
