Substituting applesauce for apples?

  • s

I want to make a noodle kugel which includes grated apples as an ingredient. Can I substitute applesauce for the apples without compromising the recipe? I don't care if it's not crunchy, I assume the noodles will be crunchy enough. Also, if I can substitute the applesauce, what amount of applesauce would be the equivalent to one apple? Thanks for all your help.

  1. I would not do that. It is going to change the texture and also make it a lot wetter.
