  1. Thanks Linda W. BTW - it was a bit sweet for me - I'd keep the amount of cassis, and reduce the amount of sugar. A splash of sparkling water might be a nice addition before serving.

      It does seem like a lot of sugar for the quantity it makes. And I always add a splash of club soda to the sangria I make.

      Made some over the weekend for a party, and it didn't all get drunk, so the hosts had me take it home as they wouldn't be drinking it. So a little sangria when I get home from work is definitely in order until it's finished. :-)

        And another "tip" - the berries looked, I thought, a bit skanky - maybe from being in the hot liquid - so when I served it, I added a fresh berry or two, and left the other ones in the pitcher.

        Enjoy - it really was both tasty and refreshing.
