(fruits in )mostarda di cremona AND stuffed lotus root recipes?

OK. Two things.
First, bought a jar of fruits preserved in Mostarda di Cremona. I've been told there are recipes, primarily dessert ones, for this. Any suggestions?

Second, years ago I had a sweet in Suzhou, it was a lotus root, stuffed with what seemed to be a sweet red bean paste, then I think steamed, cooled and sliced thin. Does anyone have a definitive recipe for this?

  1. Dunno about desserts with mustard fruits but I've got two bollito misto recipes if you're interested.

      Yes, the traditional Italian use for the mostarda is bollito misto. Quite a production. Marcella Hazan has one in her book and I'm sure Mario Batali does as well on the Food Network website.

      Or you could just try it over vanilla ice cream to see how it goes . . .
