        <content>looking to make my own protien bars and would like a good recipe.  for reference, my regular bars are the black cherry almond clif bars.  any help greatly appreciated.

      <content>I do remember thinking that the carbs were pretty high in all of them, like 60-75%. Which is good for an athlete.  The middle one, with the soy protein powder, was the lowest in carbs, but still well over 50%. 
 
In related sports nutrition news, I found some guy who made his own gel out of honey and molasses; sounds much better than some fake cherry flavor.

      <content>Thanks, i caught the episode last night.  I'm not scared of carbs, but I am always looking for the best ratio of protein to fat.  Those bars were 8ish protein and 4ish fat, still not as good as my "Gold Standard" the original Powerbar, with 10 pro, 2 fat.  Certainly not what I would call a "protein bar".  I suppose getting lots of protein and it not tasting like ass is unrealistic.</content>
