Mail Order Carrot Cake

Hopefully I am on the appropriate chowhound board for this one...what I was looking for were suggestions for good places to order carrot cake from, that would ship said cake to a specified destination. A friend of mine just moved to the East Village, NY, and his birthday is coming up in a few weeks. While I might send him some goodies that I've made, his favorite sweet, which is carrot cake, will most definitely not survive the trip. Does anyone have any mail order catalogs, websites, etc. that they trust, or that they might have even tasted carrot cake from? I am looking for an awesome cake here, so hopefully can find someone who has actually tasted the item I hope to order. Also, if by chance someone knows of a good bakery that is in/near the East Village that delivers, I'd appreciate the recommendation. Just thought it might be too difficult to find some place such as this with as little knowledge of the East Village as I possess by trying to search the NYC board. Hope this post wasn't too confusing and thanks in advance.

You probably want to try the Manhattan board, but as a fan of carrot cake and a Manhanttanite, Little Pie Company has a pretty good one (they have a 14th West 10th Avenue location but I know they ship).
