In hot weather I like to guzzle mass quantities of gin and tonic, as long as I can get Schweppes tonic, as no other brand will do, you see. However, Schweppes is sweetened with the dreaded HFCS, which I have recently begun trying to avoid as much as reasonably possible. So, is it feasible to make quinine water from natural ingredients in the home kitchen, and, if so, can it be made to taste at least as good as Schweppes? I'll be truly grateful for a recipe.

If I may suggest, I was at my local soda shop recently and saw imported Schweppes Indian Tonic; the sweeteners were regular corn syrup and sugar. It may be worth tracking down.
