I was not able to find romano beans, and I sooo want to make the Zuni slow-cooked beans tonight. Can I substitue regular green beans for the romano? Also, will I need to adjust the amount of time cooked or the preparation? Thanks

Regular green beans will work fine. Start checking them a couple of minutes before the recipe says they will be done, and cook them until they're *almost* as done as you like, residual heat will bring them to perfection.
