uglesich's is gone and that's a simple but sad fact of life. Does anyone have an authentic recipe for their world-class bloody mary?

  1. I believe I saw the recipe in their new cookbook I purchased on their website. I'd have to check to confirm.

It's there...you can email me if you are still interested.

Are the fried green tomatoes topped with shrimp in there too? I don't want to believe it's gone. (weeps angrily)

I'll need to buy that book, thanks for the heads up.

Yes, there is a fried green tomato recipe...I don't recall if it was topped with shrimp. Lots of good stuff in the book, although I have yet to try any, but I see a bloody mary in my near future.

It may not be; lots of rumors in the paper lately about how they did renew their liquor license for the fall. Gail (wife and main cook) will not be back, but they may reopen with fewer/different things on the menu. In the paper this morning, it said that one of the sous chefs has taken a job at Williams, a soul food place in town, and has taken a few of the recipes with him.

Now I can't find the article, so I have no more info. But don't despair quite yet.

      2. Hmm..this sounds good! - I just ordered the book so I can try the delicious-sounding green tomatoes and the great Bloody Mary. You're all troublemakers!
