I asked this question about a year ago and people were stumped too. Skorr- owned by Hersheys doesn't seem to make these toffee bits that I use in cookies and pies. I have resorted to crushing Heath bars. Does anybody know where to buy Toffee bits in the SF Bay Area. Does anyone manufacture them now so I can get them on the internet as an alternative?

You could use the crumbs from the last of a box of Enstrom's toffee. If you can discipline yourself, that is. I got up one morning and saw the empty box on the kitchen counter with a spoon in it - and it wasn't the dog. ; ) Seriously, are you talking about the little round balls? They come in bags labled as Heath bar something or another. I think you can get them at Wal-mart or Sam's club.

You're getting six (6) 8-oz. bags - that makes them $3.05 per bag. That's not too expensive. And Amazon.com is just a storefront for the original selling location - Hometown Favorites. Unfortunately, HF is out of the Bits o' Brickle toffee bits, but they have the Heath Bits.

And they also have 3 lbs. of Skor bits at $10.25. :-)

I can find Skor toffee bits only in certain places, like large supermarkets in Ohio (where I visit family) and nowhere in NYC (where I live). I'd suggest trying to buy them online. They are great, but need to be stored under ideal conditions. Too much humidity and they become one big toffee bar, unsuitable for baking.

I can find them in the baking section of most of the major grocery stores in SoCal. If you can't find them in SF, all the major grocery stores have those forms you can fill out to have the store order them for you...that might mean buying a larger quantity, though.

I am going to share my little secreat....you can order toffee crumbs from Enstrom toffee, here's the link....and for $3.95 ....A POUND!!! its really a deal.
The bag I recieved was more chocolate crumbs than toffee chunks, and did not have any large chunks of toffee that you see in the product photo on their website.....
However, it was excellent as the crumble in a sourcream coffee cake I gave as gifts for xmas....
I might suggest buying a box of toffee as well and adding some chunks to the crumbs, and then of course you will have some left over to devour....

I couldn't find toffee bits, either, so I just bought a bag of relatively inexpensive indivually wrapped toffee candies from grocery store's candy aisle. At home I unwrapped them, put 'em in a strong plastic bag and hit that a few times with a hammer. Worked fine. They were excellent in the Martha Stewart oatmeal/choc. chunk/toffee/cherry cookie recipe that someone recommended a while back. I will have to find that thread and re-post the link.

Thank you for all. I did find them listed under the Website Hometown Favorites, but they are out of stock. I also called Hershey today and they now make them under the label Hershey's Heath Bits of Brickle. They are available at some Safeways in California and the person at Hershey suggested that ask my local Safeway to carry them. At least I have a few leads now.

The Hershey's bits of brickle toffee bits DO NOT have near the toffee flavor of Skorr's. I even bought some toffee flavor at World Market to add to the cookie recipe using Bits of Brickle and my grandkids will not eat them. Hershey's really messed up doing away with SKORR'S. I will have disappointed grandkids the rest of my life.............Loretta P.

You might want to try Greenmar toffee bits. They are very flavorful, and don't have any of the synthetic ingredients or trans-fats that many other commercially available toffee bits have. Plus they can easily be ordered online.

I, too, am sorely disappointed that Hershey's no longer makes their Toffee bits. My grandchildren loved my Skorr cookies, and they will not eat the ones made with Hershey's toffee brickle bits. I have searched the internet for a year to locate Skorr's and cannot find them. I don't want the skorr candy bar because of the chocolate. My grankids want "Grannie's" Skorr cookies and I can no longer provide them. Sooooooooooooooooo sad in Texas.
