Finger food dinner

  • e

A group of friends has started a rotating dinner party. I'd love to host one, but the problem is that I live in a two room apartment, so dinner would be eaten on couches with our plates balanced in our laps.

I'd like to come up with a menu that we can eat with one hand without much mess and that doesn't feel too much like a collection of appetizers, even though it's finger food.

And, oh yeah, it needs to be vegetarian.

Any ideas/recipes would be most appreciated!

  1. Does it need to be finger food? One of the great things about vegetarian food is that many meals can be eaten from a single bowl with a single utensil.

How about making a couple of chili recipes, and serving with the usual accompaniments: guacamole, sour cream, salsa, tortilla chips? Or maybe a few Indian dishes, served with a big pot of rice, flatbreads and chutneys?

A collection of sandwiches would be nice, too.

    1. How about mini spanikopitas, kalamata olives, hummus, veg. grape leaves, tziki, an assortment of vegatables with dips. You could even make greek rice with pine nuts, dill, lemon and oregano and then make it into rice cakes to cut done on the messy factor. Accompany with pits wedges for scooping the dips.
