Just bought Cook's Illustrated "1000 Best Recipes". I am not so familiar with their magazine. Are all recipes in their book from their old issues of the magazine or is it still worth looking for the old issue ?
Most things in the book have appeared in the magazine at some point. I have six of their cookbooks and still pick up back issues if I see them at the local second-hand bookstore since there's a bit more text in the magazines, along with the quick tips, detailed food and equipment reviews, and illustrated how-to guides that cover everything from buying a beef roast to making pie dough to keeping your fridge organized. I don't think I'd really search hard for back issues, but if you see one it will likely be worth a couple of bucks to pick up.
