Green Parts or White Parts of Green Onions(Scallions)

WHen to use either or both? Also, can you garnish with the green part if you dont have chives, would it be too strong?

  1. Garnish with the green all you wish. Great on baked potato.

    1. The white part tends to be more oniony, the green part a little lighter (like chives). I usually use both because I like green onion, but you can decide which part to use for what recipes depending how much onion flavor you want.

      chopped green onions are a great addition to scrambled eggs.
