Japanese waterstones in Los Angeles?

Hone Me Feb 17, 2005 12:12 AM

Lookin' to sharpen my knives. Sometimes you can find at hardware stores (not Lowe's or HD), but so far, no luck for me. Maybe a specialty store that I'm unaware of? Don't really want to wait for the shipping delay of an online retailer, if possible. Besides, I'm sure to love browsing any store that carries these. Thanks for your help.

Most sporting good stores carry Arkansas whetstones. I understand Oakland is more then a side trip for you, but if you like browsing hardware stores, then this place may be a destination trip. For online shopping both www.japanwoodworker.com and www.japanesechefsknife.com
