My Valentine's Day Menu

Blue Lake Bean and Watermelon Radish Salad
with Andante Dairy fresh goat cheese and orange vinaigrette

Perciatelli all'Amatriciana
with Niman Ranch guanciale

Halibut en Papillote
with lemon, shallots, and pickled watermelon radishes, served on a bed of red-and-white Christmas limas, finished with Disisa olive oil

Meyer Lemon Tart
with whipped cream and ginger cookie

  1. Here's what my husband made me for V-Day 2005
    -Shaved asparagus, zucchini, and watermelon radish salad with white anchovies and dill pesto
    -Grilled Meyer lemon and rosemary bread topped with sauteed black trumpet mushrooms and drizzled with white truffle oil
    -Fresh Dungeness crab with a litte Singer olive oil, pepper cress, and litte segments of cara cara orange, blood orange, mineola tangelo, and meyer lemon
    -Stergeon with baby yellow beets, broccoli di cecco,and sunchokes and green garlic puree
    -Ice cream sandwich with homemade cajeta ice cream and guajillo chile and chocolate heart-shaped wafer cookies

    1. Very impressive meal. Especially like the NR guanciale with the pasta. We went for a Greek dinner.
      Chicken soulvaki marinated overnight with greek yogurt, garlic, onion juice, bay leaves and grilled to perfection. Served with a tsikzi sauce.

      Salad: Sliced oranges/grapefruits, baby greens, kalamata olives, pomegranate seeds in a orange juice vinigrette with a bit of soft cheese from the Piedmonte region.

      eggplant drizzled with olive oil, sea salt and pepper and roasted til golden. Topped with a parsely sauce.

      Homemade pita breads.
      It was a fun meal to make.
