Korean beaf, rice, wrapped in lettuce
I recall having this somewhere. Korean or Vietnamese it was, but I can't remember exactly. It was really delicious. And I was wondering how I could make something similar at home. I have the beef, rice, lettuce, and basic ingredients but am stomped over what to do with them.
Any ideas? Basically, it was Beef strips with scallions, rice, wrapped up in a lettuce leaf.
It could also easily have been kalbi, braised short ribs, which, like bulgogi, is grilled then placed in red leaf lettuce, with kochijang (hot bean paste) raw garlic and scallion. And rice, if you like it.
Kalbi is richer and juicier than bulgogi. It's a matter of taste, but I think bulgogi pales next to kalbi.
