I was so excited to use my new silicone muffin pans, but when I made corn muffins in them, the muffins stuck inside the pan and I couldn't remove them. I didn't grease the pans (because I thought they were naturally nonstick).

What did I do wrong?

The instructions that came with my silicone pans said to grease them before each intial use. I have now used them to make popovers, ham and egg cups, muffins and cupcakes. Nothing has stuck so far....

I must not have read the instructions... I'll try greasing them next time I use them and see if that makes a difference! Thanks!

You definitely need to grease them b/4 use. Sprays work best.

I ruined a silicone muffin pan by using cooking spray - only later did I read that it should never be used on silicone. I still have it for the rare occasions when I have too much batter for my metal muffin tins, but I now use it only with paper liners.

I found my new silicone bundt pan is much worse for sticking than my old teflon lined metal pan. I greased it and still my cake stuck big time and half the top came off. I'm going to try it with both greasing and flouring and if that doesn't work, I'm going to chuck it.

My silicone madeleine pans are a total disaster. Followed the directions to the letter and every last cookie stuck like glue. Thanks, but I'll stay with heavy-weight metal pans, greasing and flouring as necessary.
