Ricotta cheesecake

I've never made this before. I don't know where to get homemade ricotta, so I need to use packaged. Will that be okay? Should I, as someone once suggested, puree it in the food processor before using? How do I avoid making it to dry and mealy?

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I'm still looking for a good recipe. There's only one on Epi, and it got mixed reviews.
