Does anybody have a recipe for the batter? Also has anybody deep fried the three types of snicker bars? Regular, crunchy, and almonds.

When chip shops make deep fried Mars bars they usually use the same batter they use for the fish. Also, if you are frying up a bunch of stuff don't forget to try a deep fried Twinkie.

I think a basic tempura batter should work fine.

As for candy bar selections, what used to be a Mars bar in the states is now a Snickers Almond. If you want to have an authentic Scottish deep-fried Mars bar and live in the States, use a Milky Way; they're the same product, just different names on different sides of the pond. Likewise, what Brits call a Milky Way, Americans know as a 3 Musketeers.

Nigella Bites contains a guide for deep-frying chocolate bars in the "Trashy Food" section I think.

Yep, and that's where they belong...in the trash.

I made Nigella's recipe and the results were abysmal, no one cared for them.

I couldn't wait to try these and when I did I was so disappointed! I think they are nasty! And I like chocolate. YUK!
