Chocolate truffles storage question

  • g

After I make chocolate truffles, how long do they keep typically? And how should I store them to keep optimum freshness? Approximately what kind of temperature is best? Should I refrigerate or not refrigerate?

Also should truffles with a chestnut cream filling be stored differently since it has more butter in it than
your regular all chocolate truffles?

thanks in advance.

  1. Put them in something air tight so that they don't pick up any other flavors and refrigerate

    1. Refrigerate for up to a month (better off eating inside two weeks), freeze them if you want to store them longer. As the other poster said, in an airtight container is best. I don't store them at room temp and wouldn't recommend it, but a few hours or even a day at room temp isn't going to make them go rancid. Bring to room temperature before consuming.

While butter does have more butterfat then cream, You're fine with the rule above for both.
