Thanks to all the hot Czech mamas
Thank you all for the great suggestions, very helpful and I really appreciate it. Especially to MKELaurie, who went even further (Laurie, please see my reply to you).
This is a great board with great people. I will watch for posts from you, and will do my best to help out.
I enjoyed the thread below about Czech food. I married a Czech and enjoy his mother's cooking. Since you mentioned dumplings, one of my favorite dishes is svestkove knedliky--plum dumplings. They are simply plums enrobed in a delicious dumpling coat (made of flour, water, and cream cheese, I believe). They are sauced with butter and sugar and though sweet are served as a main course. They're delicious, and are eaten in great quantities. My father-in-law likes to tell a story of canoing on the Vltava on a camping trip with his brother. They got hungry, disembarked, and made svestkove knedliky on the riverbank using the paddle as a board for rolling out the dough.
