Anybody ever tried this fruitcake recipe? I sure would like some feedbake before I try it- it sure looks different.
Thanks,

Ozark Fruitcake
From Cy Littlebee's guide to cooking wild game. This calls for bb jam or jelly but your can cook down your berries with some sugar to get the same results.
cream 1 cup margerine and 2 cups sugar.
add 3 aggs (eggs for you flatlanders), beaten and 1 cup bb jam or jelly.
sift together 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour,
1 ts allspice, and
1 ts baking soda.
alternately add flour mix with 1 cup buttermilk to egg mix. mix until smooth and
add 1 cup walnut meats, broken,
and 1 cup raisens
and 1 1/2 cups coconut.
mix well and pour into 2 greased layer cake pans and bake 300 for 40 minutes or until firm.
ice with caramel icing. it will keep for 1 month in covered container unsliced.

It looks like a layer cake with a lot of add-ins, I wouldn't call it a traditional fruitcake. I would use butter and not margarine.
