Pressure cooker

  • s

Is it possible to adapt a recipe from a slow cooker to a pressure cooker? Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do this? There are a zillion recipes on-line using a slow cooker, but I don't have one. I do,however, have a pressure cooker, and I got the idea that perhaps it can be substituted for a slow cooker. Obviously, the time will be greatly reduced, but I don't know if it can be done, or how to do it. Thanks

  1. Hi,

I googled and found lots of resources. I am linking to one which had time tables.

My suggestion is not to use an older pressure cooker. Newer ones have a rubber nipple (not sure what to call it) which if the pressure increases too high, then it will pop open. An important safety factor and guarantees no explosions as experienced in the past.
