Brown Butter Brussel Sprouts Cooked in the Oven?
I love brown butter anything, and am looking for a 'low-maintenance' way to cook brussel sprouts on the "big day".
If I place halved brussel sprouts in a piece of heavy duty foil--toss with plenty of butter--splash of lemon juice--and sprinkle with salt/pepper then seal well, how long would they need to cook in a 375 degree oven to cook through? (15 minutes?) TIA :)
you might consider cooking them directly on the sheet pan, cut side down.....you will get some nice carmelization/flavor. I use a bit of wine/water to start with but just a little so that by the time the liquid is cooked off you can get some color/flavor by the time they are finished cooking - 20-25 minutes?
And I would add the lemon juice only right at serving time, not when you throw them in the oven. The flavor of the lemon will be brighter and less cooked. Or just toss them with some lemon zest before serving.
