Need quick baking advice

I have a very easy - and good - chocolate cake recipe that I always make in a tube pan. When baked, it fills my 9 inch tube pan.

Now I need to make a layer cake for use as a birthday cake, and I would like to use this recipe.

What size baking pans should I be using? Would two nine-inch be right?

Thanks for any help.

Sylvia

Pour water into your tube pan to the rim. Measure the water in measuring cups. Pour the water into your eight inch round baking pans. Should give you some idea if this recipe will work. Remember to adjust baking time for two pans as opposed to one.
