Irn Bru in the bay area ?
Just FYI, the Irn-Bru you get here isn't the same as you get in Scotland. What I heard was that they wouldn't disclose all their secret ingredients as required by the FDA, and what they sell in the US is reformulated. The link below to Irn Bru's US site confirms this. And it seems you can also order direct from them.
re: Chris VR
I could not follow the link, but I can give a testimony for those in the US who are buying the US distributed Irn Bru drink. I just got back this past month from my first trip to Scotland where I was introduced to Irn Bru (and basically fell in love with it and drank it daily). Now back in the states, I have searched for distributors and finally found a small store in my state's capital city that sells it. I drove there this weekend (over 100 miles for the sole purpose of buying Irn Bru) and purchased two cases (one regular and one diet). The taste is NOT the same as in Scotland. The flavor is not as intense...it tastes almost 'watered down'. (also doesn't seem as bubbly). The Scottish Irn Bru has an interesting, almost 'metallic' note (which is strange, but pleasant), which neither of the drinks that I purchased have.
I've tasted both the regular and diet versions that I bought here and NEITHER taste the same as their Scottish counterparts. IF they are the same, then perhaps the trip over from the manufacturer altered the taste....but I'm not sure how it could have. Perhaps they are, indeed reformulations to meet FDA standards, or perhaps they weren't 'fresh' (?).
Regardless, they do NOT the same intense, delicious taste I fell in love with in Scotland. :(
Luckily I've had a few cans before last year so I know what you are talking about.
Try British Foods (they do not always have it in stock so call ahead).

Mollie Stone, at least the one in San Bruno, has a small selection of British groceries. Don't recall if I saw Irn Bru there though.
