beside the cheese blinzes, and cheesecake what are some other foods to eat on the holiday?
My grandmother used to make kreplach (sp?), which are basically cheese ravioli that are boiled and then fried. Besides that, I usually grill fish, but that's not really based on tradition as much as it's usually good weather at this time of year for outdoor cooking.
I'm going nontraditional and am making a Mexican menu (it'll have plenty of cheese in it) for one of my meals, and for the another I'll go more traditional, with fish, a modified (for fat) noodle kugel and maybe blinzes for dessert.
My husband has high cholesterol, so the Shabbat following the holiday will definitely be vegan.
I go for some of the traditional things-- cheesecake, blintzes and some non-trad. like lasagna. How about a Greek salad with feta.
