Any places to recommend? I have a friend who is Bukharan who lives in FH (of course) and he recommended a place, but I'm curious what else is out there.

If I had any clue how to spell it, I would. It's the Bukharan word for the style of BBQ they specialize in. I only have their phone number. Even my friend couldn't spell it!

          Jim,
I did it for you. I had left the number in another wallet, so I just got it out. Here's a review of the place recommended to me, sounds good!

Ah, ok, yeah, sounds like a good place, we've had favorable mention of it on our Outer Boroughs board. Thanks for digging up the info!

Here, FYI, are the two comments on it, from a couple of fairly recent issues of ChowNews:

The menu at Cheburechnaya, a new kosher Uzbek restaurant, has typical dishes like manty (lamb dumplings), chebureki (Pierogi-like fried dumplings with potato, mushroom, or beef), and shish kabobs, but it also lists ram's testicles. *Jake Wengroff* didn't try them, but found other dishes tasty. Be sure and try the Uzbek sodas (citrus, bubblegum or anise flavored). Service, by a Korean woman, was helpful and knowledgeable (you gotta love NY!). Closed Friday night, and doesn't open Saturday night until sundown, about 9:30 this time of year.

Cheburechnaya (see also ChowNews #76) is a real hot spot at lunchtime anc weekend nights. *el jefe* says, "the chebureki are good, the hummus fine, the bread is excellent, but the real reason to go is the kebabs. All are outstanding, including the ram testicles."

            ciao
