Can anyone suggest a really good place for sufganiot in New York City? I am trying to find the information for an article in the Jewish Week.
This reminds me of an incident a few years ago when my mother in law got it into her head that she had to buy who knows how many dozen jelly donuts for a Chanukah celebration. Well, she bought them at her local bakery in Queens (not very good in general), and they were awful, and not many people liked jelly donuts to begin with and those who did didn't eat them either, so most of them were left over. Last time she ever tried that :-(.
