Has anyone heard of a smoked or cured fish with this (or similar) name? I'd like to know its correct name and where to get it. Thanks.
Yes, I've heard of it...the only person who ever referred to it is my father, who refused to eat it as a child. The only place I've ever seen it mentioned is at Russ & Daughters, a wonderful smoked fish place on the lower east side of Manhattan.
