Cheap Appetizers for Fundraiser

Hayley Downs Jan 26, 2006 11:52 AM

Hi There --

I'm organizing a fundraiser next week. I need to get something filling, delicious and and CHEAP to serve at a party in the East Village. I was thinking the Punjabi Deli for .75 each samosas but I thought I would see if anybody else has a fantastic idea that will wow all the nice people who are coming...

Thanks for your help...

Every grocery store in Chinatown has huge bags of frozen dumplings, mini-buns, etc., CHEAP. Unlike the samosas or other takeout, you'd have to steam or fry them yourself ahead of time but it's high quality and super low price. Also, though I hate to say it, if you can get someone to drive you to Costco, they carry a variety of frozen boxed hors d'oeuvres, like various phyllo ones from the Greek producers as well as mini-quiches and other classics , in large packages.

Why 'hate to say' about Costco? Their products are top quality, and the way they treat their customers and employees leave nothing to be ashamed for shopping at a corporate conglomerate. they also have great ready to serve appetizer platters. cheap.
