Does anyone know of a store in the 5 boroughs that sells orange bitters? Fee's is the only brand I'm familiar with, but I'm willing to try others. Thanks.

I have heard that LeNell's in Red Hook has (416 Van Brunt Street b/t Coffey & Van Dyke). Also, they are sold at the new Pegu Club (77 Houston Street). Can't imagine why liquor stores in NYC don't sell things like bitters. Is there some kind of law?

«Is there some kind of law?» Unfortunately, yes. Liquors stores are basically limited to selling Wines and Liquor. Even the sale of corkscrews and martini glasses is a relatively recent phenomena (law change). And, it's only about 25 years that NYS liquor stores have been allowed to accept credit cards.

Bitters is a particularly peculiar prohibition, because Angostura bitters is 45% alcohol, a greater proof than most liquor.
