Pain d'Avignon boule

I've become addicted to the Pain d'Avignon boule (made in Long Island City!) that the Time Warner Whole Foods sells, but I can't count on availability there! Does anyone know any other shop that sells this unreal bread (better than the Balthazar boule)?

    1. I buy the Pain d'Avignon breads at FAIRWAY, but I'm not sure if they stock the "boule". Might be worth a phone call and perhaps a suggestion/request in case they don't stock it already. I'd love to try it! The other Pd'A breads are certainly excellent.

Thanks for the info -- Whole Foods is now calling the boule "country sourdough" or some such, but whatever the name, it smells as sweet. I wish Pain d would open a retail outlet, preferably in a location convenient to me!

              Toutaubeurre -

as I know you personally, I still can't believe you've been keeping this from me for so long. Next time we go out you are SO bringing this over!

            2. Dear Billy,

You will find Pain D'Avignon bread sold at both Whole Food's stores, Fairway uptown and downtown, Citerella's, Corodo Bread and Pastry in Grand Central Station, Agata and Valentina, and Dean and DeLuca uptown and downtown, just to name a few!

              Hope that helps!!!!!
