fresh, hot iranian bread
it may be just a fantasy, but is there anywhere to find fresh iranian bread in new york? anything- soft sourdough sangak, lavash, barbari (the pizzas at sullivan st bakery look like barbari, but alas, taste nothing like it).

Sorry I can't help you, but if you do find out where to get noon Barbari in manhattan you'll make my week. Maybe if we get enough interest we can convince some bakery (Sullivan St.) to make some?

kalustyan on lex btwn 28/29 has lavash for sure, but i haven't tried it. and on 28th btwn 5th and madison i found this little indian spice store (north side of street) that randomly had barbari. not the greatest, but it's all i've been able to find.

there is a store that is actually iranian on that 28th street strip - maybe thats the one you visited. They might know where you might get that type of bread.
