Does anyone know where I can I get organic chicken livers (not in the chicken)? Manhattan or Brooklyn is best.
Thanks

Murray's brand chickens may not be certified organic but they are from free-range chickens that are not administered hormones or antibiotics. They are avaiulable in a number of places including Whole Foods.

Oppenheimer Meats on Broadway and 98th. They stock Misty Knolls chickens from VT, which are organic, and can order livers for you with a couple of days' notice. 212-662-0690, ask for Robert. I have to say, though, that I don't find them very different from any good chicken liver (though I've had really great organic livers in the past).

organic is not for the taste its for health and safety. Livers cleanse all the toxins out of the bloodstream. If the liver your eating cleansed a chicken with hormones, drugs, any pollutants in the million-chicken industrial farm, etc, YOU are eating those things too. in pretty high doses as the bad stuff accumulates over time in the liver.
