I could use a good recommendation for a reliable source for fried chicken in Manhattan -- UWS preferrable. I've been going to Fairway to get my fix, but I want to branch out.

We only visited there once (on a day that Julia Roberts was filming a movie across the street, and stopped in) so we can't vouch for its consistency, but we had terrific fried chicken at the PINK TEA CUP (42 Grove Street, bet. Bedford & Bleecker; 212/807-6755).

I once read that the All State Cafe (divey bar on 72nd) had the best fried chicken, although I can't say I was blown away by it. You may want to give it a try though, depending on what your criteria is.
