Desperately seeking Pastry fulfillment!

  • c

I have spent the better part of two years looking for a is for a cake that was made at Christmas time by a Croatian lady.
It consisted of very thin, sponge-like layers of cake and buttercream, and in between there were torte wafers( same sort of thing as ice cream cones, only in sheet form )The cake was cut into small fingers for presentation and also, because they are rich and undoubtedly time consuming to make! I have thought of ways to create my own recipe and have done so.....but it just wasn't the same. I don't know the exact recipe and that is what I am craving........Can anyone send me a recipe to put me out of my misery and into dessert bliss!?

  1. except for the part about cutting the cake into small fingers, it sounds like you're describing a dobosh torte. you should be able to find a recipe in any hungarian, viennese, or austrian cookbook.
