    The key to a great gado-gado is to have a great
    peanut sauce. When you've found that or concocted
    a batch yourself, you're in business.

      You should have no trouble finding gado-gado sauce in Chinatown. Check, e.g., the Thai-Indonesian store on Bayard St. just west of Mott.

      My folks have a couple of Indonesian cookbooks that probably have decent gado2 recipes, but they're uptown and I'm downtown. Plus, my father wouldn't make such a high-fat item nowadays. He is on a super-low fat diet.
