No bigfoot... Only now I've found the MONSTER!!!
No bigfoot here in NJ or NYC, according to the factory, but this has led me to something much more dangerous: The Monster Ale from Brooklyn Brewery.
I have ordered two cases, not cheap by any means, 37 dollars per case plus tax.
One for drinking, one for cellaring.
I'll let the group know how it is.
The Monster is a splendid beer this year, and it will age marvelously: I plan to lay down a case for several years, right next to my four-year collection of Black Chocolate Stout.
If you like that style of beer, I suggest you also
look for Old Crustacean, from Rogue Brewery in Oregon, and of course the classic Thomas Hardy's.

I should know this, but what style of barley wine is Monster? I would guess it might lean toward the British style. I like Crustacean and Bigfoot, the big, highly hopped, American-style barley wines.
BTW, the Brooklyn Brewery's Garrett Oliver is the subject of a story in the current issue of Gourmet.
