Eating in TOKYO

Hungry-san Jun 12, 2006 02:00 AM

I'll be staying one night in Minato, in Hamamatsucho. I was wondering if there was any chowhond-worthy restaurants of any cuisine that won't break the bank. Thanks in advance!

We went to Midori in ginza, waited to get in (no reservations) and would have done it again. They serve fabulous sushi and it's extremely reasonable.

Yamanekoya (03-5472-3608) serves great Okinawan food, and would be worth a trip across town. They're always crowded though, so try to reserve ahead of time.

Atagoya (03-3436-1219) does nice all-tofu dinners starting at Y3000 or so. I think you may have to reserve in advance though. (Same day is okay.)

Tatsukichi (03-5777-1717) is a charming izakaya with good horsemeat and amazingly crunchy grilled eel bones (lots of calcium).
