Bakerzin, Raffles City, Downtown, Singapore

A fairly upscale cafe with a few branches.

Very smooth coffee in the cappucino, no excessive acidity or over roasting. Was very impressed.

Surprised to see canneles (overbaked, centres dense and chewy instead of soft and custardy, the shell could have been crispier) and macaroons (excellent flavours, especially the rose, but the shells are tender when they should have a shatteringly fragile and crisp exterior over a chewy layer). Admirable efforts though; I was more pleased than disappointed.

Didn't taste the selection of chocolates, mainly flavoured with a variety of nuts, the flavours on the conservative side. Cakes and desserts looked decent, would have liked to try their souffles one of these days.

  1. You should try the sumatra cakes, one of my favourite choc items. The dessert tapas is also very interesting, especially for sharing!
