Does anyone have any recommendations in the 5th near Censier and Mouffetard. There seem to be a lot of dives in the area. I'm on a budget, but I'd rather starve than go into some of the places I've seen. I really liked Les Delices d'Aphrodite if that gives you an idea...Also, what is the best bakery around there? Thanks for any suggestions!

  1. Try Mavromatis. It's owned by the same people as Delice de Aphrodite but a bit more upscale and old worldly. Excellent Greek food. Nice place. No rats.

    1. We love the Le Pain Quotidien on the rue Mouffetard! We've only eaten breakfast there -- great pain chocolat --but I think they serve sandwiches at lunch. Nice, big wooden tables. It's very near Église Saint-Médard.

      1. Le Pain Quotidien is also a wonderful bakery, but not far away -- less than a mile -- is Boulangerie Kayser on the rue Monge.
