Lucca, Italy

Looking for any yummy advice for Lucca. I have a friend there now and said I would look into it. Thank you!

Trattoria da Leo is worth trying, especially at lunch. I don't know if they serve dinner. A casual place where many locals eat. Reasonable prices.

Buca St.Antonio was great. Food was wonderful and the family was so friendly. Canuleia was great. We were there in Oct., it was so warm, we had dinner in the garden area. Food is amazing. It's on via Canuleia. 0583/47470

        hey doreen,

i just posted this: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/552667 and was wondering if you thought Canuleia would be good for a large group? like 30 people.

        thanks,

Hi euroskip: Although Canuleia is small. You could probably reserve the whole garden area which would see at least 30. They seem accomodating. Also as I've posted before, while you're there, take the train(18 min) to Via Reggio. On the sea, a really pretty town. We had dinner with friends, so I can vouch for the chow there. Congrats. Lucca is such a beautiful and romantic place.

I am actually heading to Lucca next week an have been doing some research. There seem to be a few outstanding places in Lucca. So far, La Buca Di San Antonio seems to be one of those places not to miss.
I am looking forward to hearing from other people with first hand experience, in the mean while I'll share what I can find.

Yes, Buca Di San Antonio is fantastic. We ate there several years ago and sent friends not too long ago - who reported a similar experience. NOt to be missed.
