tokyo and kyoto
I'm off to Tokyo and kyoto in June. I will be on my own several nights, and with Japanese clients on others. Dollar is not too good right now, so I'm looking for some moderately priced places - has to be good food. Noodle shops are welcome, but you can't live on noodles alone!
we loved Midori, a reasonably priced sushi place in the Ginza district of tokyo. They don't take reservations so you have to wait, but it's certainly worth it. In Kyoto we had a delicious all you can eat chinese lunch in a department store so check that out. The store's name escapes me but the restaurants upstairs were called Mosaic.
I can't remember the name of the place, but I had surprisingly good Indian food at a place in Kyoto, and it was cheaper than most Japanese places except for the noodle/donburi/curry shops. & sometimes you want a change from Japanese food.
In the noodle department, Omen in Kyoto is a must.
