La Chiusa in Montefollonico is wonderful, and a beautiful place too. I also recommend Ristorante Umbria in Todi. The view from the dining porch is spectacular, and the regional specialties are very good.

We weren't taken with the place recommended in Todi but our favorite meal was in Gubbio. We were taken there for lunch by this woman, Anne, who's an American tour guide in Umbria. She has a website, something like Anne in Italy. You might contact her about restaurants as I think she'd be a good source. And if you want a guide, she was terrific.

a couple of years ago now, but highlight of our trip restaurant wise was Ristorante Umbria in Todi (a beautiful town incidentally) - partic remember the side order of lentils, which was awesome - good wild boar and duck too. If applicable to you we had our youngest in tow - then just around 1 year old, and they fawned on him in a way that you don't get in the UK......
