There are a bunch of Portuguese places along Ditmar-Koel-Straße; the one I picked randomly "Porto," wasn't all that great, but I have a feeling some of the others might be good. Anyone know?

Definitely visit the Fischmarkt on Sunday morning and do breakfast there!

The Fischmarkt figures prominently in a key scene of the foodie film Mostly Martha, most of which is set in Hamburg. Bropaul, I assume breakfast there includes treats such as hareng?

Going on Wednesday of this week. Here are the three places that I'm targeting based on some research. May be a bust -- I'll post after I've been there (have some great places for Berlin, but Hamburg is a bit of a question mark):

I don't know if you've tried doing a search on this CH board, but I just tried it and only one post came up (below) and it got no recs! I got 139 CH posts on Berlin.

Just a thought, but maybe the better way to go is to ask for a German guide book that chowhounders have used with good results.

Have an Alsterwasser - Beer and lemon/lime soda. It's a truly local thing (at least the name is).
